PTG said mine shipped Wednesday, so they are now shipping (if you have
been waiting for one you have already ordered).

if you need a replacement bolt for a cmp barreled action (like i did), they are now shipping. $200 each, i assume is still current price. I ordered mine in March and was told "possibly mid-April." They were $200 then.

Re: FYI....40X replacement bolts:

I was told that was the pre-order price. They may be slightly higher now.

I got mine in yesterday, and I must say, it looks very nice.
I don't have the rifle together yet, so I can't say how it works.

Re: FYI....40X replacement bolts:

Got mine on Wed. Mr Kiff and company sure do some nice work! Ordered 2 as I was going to buy a HB barreled receiver but had several guys that looked them over at the stores say they were pretty hit and miss for barrel condition so thought $365ish shipped for a stripped receiver was a bit high???? Now I can lose one and still have a spare.

Re: FYI....40X replacement bolts:

i got my barreled receiver a couple months ago from cmp-south. they had 8-10 at the time. only 1 appeared to NOT have a pristine bore....some a little rough on the outside. I think there were 3 that were probably 95% or better externally. the one i got was a satin finish - the only one of its type. the rest were regular blue.

I see posted on CMP forums from the north store some pics and about half of the barreled receivers looked like they had had something spilled on the barrels as they were grayish colored. The poster of pics abeal said he wouldn't gamble on them via mail and best bet would be to hand pick one at either store. Also I had PMed DonC that posts here and he had visited the south store and picked out a nice one but also stated they would be a "crap shoot" via mail order. On those 2 comments I decided to pass but still want one for a project to recontour barrel and shorten for a sporter type rig. I have enough parts to complete one or two now.

Re: FYI....40X replacement bolts:

I just received my bolt from PTG, and the thing looks like a work of art!

The barreled receiver that I got from CMP has the glossy blued exterior finish, with very few blemishes (couple small smudges / scraps here and there) and a very clean looking bore. Was a bit surprised that it was JUST the barrel and action minus any other parts, but with this new bolt I am on the way to a good trainer I think.

Re: FYI....40X replacement bolts:

I have a question. What is the best way to check headspace with the new bolt? (Or any bolt for that matter in the .22lr 40XB)

Thanks!
