Could the rife be had in .300 win mag? Any reason this would be a bad idea? 22'' barrel cut it? Thanks in advance.

In case you wondering I just looking for something between .308's less than astonishing bc/mv and the expensiveness of .338/lack of semi auto practicality.. I think 300 is a good medium?

hopefully I'm not making an ass of myself asking....

Re: GAP 10 questions

The GAP-10 and all other true "AR-10's" are based on a short action, for a .300 Win Mag you need a long action. I've seen some attempts at this but do not believe POF is doing it.

You may be able to talk GAP into to building you a 300WSM, 300RSAUM, or 300RCM though. Each of these nearly duplicates the 300 Win Mag.

Yes the three cartridges I mentioned are short action magnums. The issue is getting them to feed properly in a semi auto, no one has done it well that Ive seen.

Re: GAP 10 questions

On the GAP 10 or Precision AR-10/LR-308 etc platform, we only offer calibers that are standard boltface and will fit into a typical 308 magazine.

--243 (mag length not suitable with larger bullets), 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 260, 6.5x47 Lapua (shoulder angle may cause feed issues), 7-08, 308, 338 federal and the like.
