I haven't shot the GAP yet as I just got it. The BORS is cool and normally used on my Barrett 98 Bravo 338. I am going to give it a whirl on the GAP-10.

I just can't bring my self to put that big X of a scope on a gas gun when a little NF 2.5-10 is more than enough for what that gun will do. I want my gas gun to be as light as possible. Just my .02

Let us know how that BORS system works out for a .308....thats the first one I have seen on one. Thats one badass looking rifle. Nothing like sinking 6-8k into a rifle system.

I am thinking about swapping my USO SN-3 1.8x-10x out for a NXSOort a leuopold so I can use the Bors....my rifle would be approaching 20lbs with a fully loaded 20rd mag and the suppresor on front. I can already shoot to 1000 but need to use match ammo and ballistic tables to be accurate. Is the $1700 worth it to be able to turn the dial or should I stay old fashioned and save the cash?

I will let you know how it goes on the AR-10. I am trying to get out to the 1000 yard range this week. For now, keep the bucks. PS That is a really great looking rifle. The suppressor is killing me! Also, a BORS system sold on the Hide last week for $800.00 new!

Your rig will ring the bell at 1000 easily my friend, you've got a quality built rig and frankly one of the most badass rifles on the hide. Now all you need is a can.

That is the way mine was shipped to me. Talk to Ken at GAP about it. It's a really nice set up. I have a Nightforce Unimount and the badger is a bit more beefy.

Here's my best group at 497 yards after I had zeroed my rifle...conditions were perfect...no wind. I borrowed the shoot n c target from a guy at the range, thats why its all marked up and has about 4 different size caliber holes. My 3 shot group are the ones just to the lower left of the bullseye. The pic of the gun is up top in this thread. Used Southwest Ammo's 175gr SMK with Lapua brass...it aint cheap but its the closest thing to handloads I have ever shot. Only Litz ammo may be better than this stuff.

Your x-ray vision must be better than mine. The blocked and glued 20/10 or 30/10 Pmags are sold throughout California for 5.56 and 7.62. They hold the legal 10 rounds but still look so sweet, unlike the stubby 10 rounders like the DPMS etc. Check calegalmags.com It's magazine porn, one might say.

Thanks to everyone who posted complements, information and advice on my GAP-10. Also, great seeing everyone's guns and targets. It's really helpful and I appreciate it. A quick note to the guys that really seem to have a Hard-On for California and those who live here. Have you ever taken the time to think of what may happen if the Right side of California gave up and moved out. You would loose the whole state. Guns Done! FYI, if a state the size of California goes down, the rest could follow. You should be thanking us. PS I went out to the 1000 yard private range today that is 20 minutes from my house in cargo shorts and a tee shirt!

I love it when people come in and shit on a nice thread. Perhaps it's because he lives in Misery oops SP Missouri. You can tell from the guys emoticon he's obviously pissed off......probably because when he went to make a move on his sheep he was FLACCID.....correct spelling. Oh well what can you expect from a 3rd grade education.
This is a hobby for most of us and having the wherewithal to be able to screw around with stuff like BORS and NF glass is half the fun.

You are in serious violation of SH rules!!!! All groups posted must be at least 5 shot groups!!!! Seriously though beautiful group at 100 let alone 500!!! Please feel free to send me your spent Lapua brass......does SW say what the load is?

No, the pic with the sub moa group was shot at 397 yards (not 497 typo) with the LWRC Repr that is shown above in this thread. Like I said, conditions were perfect - 0 wind, low humidity and Im basicallly at sea level.
Oh, and to answer the other question about the load for the Southwest Ammo 175gr smk....I am not sure..I'd give them a call and just ask. Or,I would bet you can find this info on Brian Litz's site who builds pretty much the same load in 175gr. Sorry, I don't collect the brass...I don't reload. Maybe I should be a little more meticulous and collect it since apparently I have heard that you can resell once fired lapua brass.

That being said I just ordered a Henny 3-12 for one of my gas guns.
Didn't realize the objective was that HUGE.
I think that little NF is a great scope for the gassers. I've shot mine out to 1000 several times. Can't see bullet holes much past 300 or so, but I can clearly make out the target. I think a lot of people think the target has to be huge in their scope or it's not enough power for them.

I'm considering selling my USO sn-3 for a leuopold or a Nxs just so I can put a BORS system on my repr......screw it....before I die I want to own one of the ultimate short stroke gas guns made with the best optics......not that a custom sn-3 isn't totally kick ass. Only live once.....send as much steel downrange as you can.

Sorry, that group was shot at 397.......not that it would be any worse rhan 497. In my opinion between the suppesor and how lwrc designed gun fom ground up as a piston the recoil seems to be less than my ar-10a2, it's expensive and it shoots like it. Maybe it just heavier?
That's why I suppose it was made truly mil spec and sf teams use variants of this gun. Sell it to you for $8300 with the can.....it's a bargain since I have a Burris fastfire in a predator tactical mount plus a surefire scout light with every accessory (incl. nvg's) and a Harris pi-pod. Dope chart for 175gr smk's is completed. Haha just kidding....wouldn't sell this thing unless I was forced to live under a bridge. But thanks for the compliments!
