Kicking Ass Somewhere
want to buy one more Top end rifle looking at the AIAX and the GAP rifle, I have a few LRI builds as well as Phoenix Customs and a few others here on the forum. Now looking to get one of these two or if you guys have another top rifle builder I am all ears. Which one and why over the other, this is for PRS shooting.

They dont seem very comparable to me. One is kinda handy and smaller overall, the other a full size chassis style gun. What are your goals? Did you see the Mile High sale on the discontinued AX's? If you dont already own at least one AI, this is an easy decision. The thunder ranch is just a variation on all of your other rifles. Essentially you be duplicating what you have. Isn't the thunder ranch a .308 only?

do you have a tacops yet? If you want a 60 degree bolt throw like the AI you could go with a GAP Tempest. I had always wanted an AI but when I got to handle one (didnt shoot it) i was a bit un-impressed, i went with the DTA instead. That being said I still kind of want an AI, its rugged and heavy. I'm pretty sure you could beat someone to death with it. Since you're looking to use this for PRS I would go with 6mm creedmoor, manners stock and tempest or mausingfield action.

I have GAP, SAKO and AI rifles. Love all of them. Since you already have high end custom rifles and can purchase an AI from Mile High at a discount right now, I would buy the AI just to have a high end factory rifle.

For me, I like the 60 degree bolt lift. Most of my GAP rifles are built on a Badger actions and placed in an AICS chassis. So buying an AI seemed natural.

When I go to the range, I bring one custom and one AI. I do hunt with my AXMC most of the time. I bring one short and one long barrel depending on terrain.

I have both a GAP TR 6.5x47 and AXMC308. TR is very close to original spec except V2 action, threaded, etc. Not remotely similar rifles. Unless the cute little Thunder Ranch rollmark matters, custom spec drop bbl to RV contour, go Elite TA to bring weight balance back, and mini-chassis vs dbm is user need preference. Vs old style mini-chassis, I'd go APA RTG DBM.

(Also, I know SA is not "MC" but choose not to over complicate trivial shit)

Didn't see the sale on their website
