I have had good results using 46.5 - 47.2 grs. IMR4895 with the 168gr. bullets in the 30-06 M1 Garand.
As for the M1A I use anywhere from 38.5 - 41.5grs. IMR4895 with the 168gr. bullet. As usual start low & work up with your rifle.

165-168/Garand, 49.0gr IMR-4064. 175-180gr/Garand, 48.0gr IMR-4064. 147-155/Garand, 50.0gr IMR-4064.
168, 175SMK/M1A 42.2gr IMR-4064. With the 175, this is a 1Kyd load.
Like all loads, small variances may be needed to accommodate individual rifles. I tend to consider these as max loads, but others have gone higher. All of these loads are from reliable published sources.

168gr Amax with either 48.0grs/4064 or 47.0grs/MR4895 works like a charm.
Pretty much standard loads for it.

Dads using 46.0gr IMR-4895 with 168 A-Maxs in both his Garands. Both like them. Neither are beating the op-rods up and run pretty close to the elevation knob.
