Gas gun caliber for tactical match

If you were going to shoot an AR15 or AR10 platform in tactical matches out to 900 ish yards what caliber and barrel length would you choose based on your experiences? (Grendel,223,243,260,CM,308)

18" or 20" -- .243, .260, .308 would all fit the bill - I dont think the other 2 can cut the mustard for 900 yards as well.

If you reload then the 6mmAR Turbo 40 degree is a sweet little cartridge. http://www.6mmar.com/ If you already have a AR-15 then all you have to do is get a upper and dies.

105's at 2900 fps.That's with 30.3 grains of H4895 in a 26" barrel.

excellent accuracy
low recoil
ballistics better than .308
burns less powder than .308 (akin to 6mmBR in a AR platform)

Steve runs his a bit hotter than mine- I am not sure how he gets away with it. I am using 28.9 grains of H4895 under a 105AMAX for 2800 fps from a 24" barrel.

I will check out the 6mm turbo further hadn't considered it in the mix but it sure has good numbers.

Consider a 6 or 22PPC, Turbo or RAT in an AR15.
Consider a 6xc in an AR10.

Something easier to reload and to consider in the smaller AR15 platform would be the 6.5 grendel(264lbc)

20" barrel for both.

AR-15, 6Rat, 22PDK, I have both and like both.

The advantage of the 6Rat and 22pdk over the 223 is that you can shoot heavy bullets(80sie, 107sie)out of the mag.

AR-10, .243, or .260, I run a .243XC (.243 with 30 Degree shoulder and BR length neck) Works well also.

6 BRX is about as flat as you can get in a AR15,
243, in a AR10 but I am testing a 6.5x47, 6x47 and a couple of 308s in AR12s, the 6x47 is shooting 107s at 3192fps out of a 26" tube so it's not much slower than a 243.
