So I've been building up a Mega/JP 6.5. JP MK III handguard and SLR gas block, +2 gas.
The issue I've ran into is that the gas tube hits the top of the handguard at the point where it just starts to kink down. It has clearance where it first comes out of the receiver. It's not really hitting hard but it's definitely making contact. I did try another gas tube thinking one might be bent and the were both the same (different brands). Figure shows where it's hitting.
First is this an issue? I know I've always heard if the gas block itself hits it causes an issue, wasn't sure about the gas tube this close the receiver but seems like it's not ideal. It looks like the barrel is centered in the handguard (handguard is just short of the gas block so no worries there, and I don't think I could adjust it up much if any that close to the receiver. Second if it is an issue, what's the fix, if two different gas tubes were both hitting I doubt ordering another one is going to be the fix. Seems like the only other option is to bend it but that seems risky to either kink/weaken the tube or impact the gas key alignment since it seems perfect right now.
Thanks
Todd
