Geared tripod head for RF?

Anyone used a geared tripod head for rangefinders or spotter with rangefinder?

Any experience is appreciated before I waste some money.

I use a Benro geared head for field target spotting scope use. If you have one with a reticle it is much easier to get things lined up how you want.

For hunting use and scanning around I have zero hands on for that use case.

For what I use it for the difference was apparent with 30 seconds of use and I kick myself for getting a fluid panning head first because it was 'cheaper'. A friend thought the same thing after trying mine and ordered one from his phone right then.
