i just installed a ssa-e into my bushmaster varminter problem is its breaking at 5 pounds not the advertised 3.5 pounds. any ideas what the problem could be? it is my first trigger install but i followed instructions reset is fine operation seems fine just toooooo heavy!

Re: geissele problem

I would remove the trigger. Apply grease to the area's as instructed and reinstall and see how that works. Do the springs look like they are seated properly?

Re: geissele problem

this is the trigger you have correct?

I have a few giessele's and the first thing that id do is take it back out, clean it with something like CLP, and then use the supplied grease on the sear.

One of my SSD-E's had some sticky type grease on it and needed to be cleaned after i installed it and it was not what it was supposed to be.

Actually, the Geissele SSA has a pull weight of 4.5# and the Geissele SSA-E is 3.5#.

To the OP, you need to do as others have advised and apply the grease on the areas instructed and dry fire it until it feels right. This will limber the springs up and they won't be quite as stiff.

Re: geissele problem

I have a large pin
SSA E According to my rcbs trigger. wt tool it breaks at 4#. It breaks clean and its well lubed. I have a 12lyear old jewell I like this trig as well too.

Id send it back. If my trigget broke any heavier than 4 I would have sent mine back.
