Gemtech /AM-TAC QM Jake Brake

I have been using the Jake Brake for just over a year.
As a comp, there is much better stuff out there. The PWS 5.56 rocks! But is incredibly loud and not at all teammate friendly.

The Jake does a VERY good job considering it's dual purpose. I like the size and it is well made. I find that it is entirely adequate for my purposes as a stand alone. Recoil is redirected rearward with some minimal muzzle rise. Again, it is NOT a comp! It is somewhat concussive to teammates but not on the level of the PWS 5.56. Followup shots are easy enough but not "auto pilot" easy. You still need to keep focus and maintain solid shooting technique.

Overall, I have been extremely impressed with it. I carry my GemTech suppressor in my rifle bag. I enjoy having the flexibility to QA the suppressor when on scene while maintaining a smaller rifle rack profile in my patrol vehicle.

I have been running one my 11.5" AR for just over a year. Compared to my buddies Battle Comp, the Jake Break is a little quieter but recoil reduction seems about the same, to me anyways. Prior to the JB I was running the PWS and the JB is a better system for me. It is a great piece for those looking for a combination flash hider/comp. Plus like Dave, it is nice to be able to slap my can on the rifle in less than 2 second and be ready to run it suppressed.

You can also check out Am-Tac, formally Ambush Tactical. They are the designers of the Jake Break. There is more info about the break on their web site, I even think there is a video or two out there involving the JB.

I have a battle comp on several rifles, if it performs as well or better, isn't any louder, and will allow quick installation of a suppressor I'll definitely be happy...i just put one on a six8 I just built and plan to put one on a new 5.56 as well and share a suppressor. Thanks for the feedback.
