Suppressors Gemtech G5 or Halo

Re: Gemtech G5 or Halo

Well I have a G5 on its way and my buddy does as well but we are a ways out due to the ATF. When they come in I'll let you know, I took the g5 because I have an fs 2000 and it was a good option for that gun due to the flash suppressor that has the metric left hand threads.

Re: Gemtech G5 or Halo

Don't have any experience with the G5, but I run a Halo on a Colt 6920 and a LWRC M6 SPR. Both have the Vortex flash hider. I like the fact that I can swap them between rifles with little to no effort. Halo locks up solid with the vortex. It is a heavy can though, so if you are looking to save on weight, the G5 is probably a better bet.

Re: Gemtech G5 or Halo

I love my G5. I have had it for several years and bought it before the G5T came out. If I were to do it over again, i would have paid a little more for the titanium version. I have mounts for the can to go on 2 guns, a 10.5" and a 16" but run it primarily on the 10.5" as that is what I shoot the most. Accuracy is great on both as well.

I do like the idea of having a can that is quick to attach but does not require a special mount like the Halo, however.

Re: Gemtech G5 or Halo

I've both the G5 & HALO suppressors & I enjoy them both.they sound very similar to the naked ear. The biggest decision quick attach out not. I use my G5 mostly because of the propriety flash hider being pinned on my barrel for a true 16"barrel.
