Anyone know if the Gemtech Sandstorm can handle 300 win mag? Anyone ever shot the can? How is the noise?

Yes, the sandstorm can handle the 300Win Mag per Gemtech. Mine is on a 7mmWSM and is does a damn fine job. As the suppressor is made from Titanium, it gets hot quick, but cools down quick. To my ear, on the 7mmWSM it is slightly louder than a 22LR un-suppressed. On the 308 slightly more quiet, on the 5.56 AR louder than the 308. When used on the 10/22, very quiet. That said, with any subsonic loads, the Sandstorm is scary quiet on all host weapons.

The first .30 cal can i picked up was an HVT. It's rated for .300WM. Some hate them but I've been happy with mine. Anyhow, I hope to have my SandStorm in hand in a couple months. I was able to compare it to my HVT side by side. The contrasts are stark and I'm incredibly impressed with the SandStorm. I don't know what makes it noticeably quieter than my HVT but it is! Not only that, but it's very light and compact, one of the smaller .30 cal magnum rated cans if I'm not mistaken. Get one if you don't have one, you won't regret it.

I was debating about the Sandstorm or waiting on AAC's 300SD, for the price and that it is QD Im just going to go with the Sandstorm. Putting it on a Rem 700 with B&C stock.
