German High turret sniper

Here is an example of a midwar High turret sniper rifle in 7.92 Mauser. The mounts were screwed and soldered to the rifle and scope. The scope was removed after rotating a locking lever and swinging it almost 90 degrees. It was a very substantial mounting system. The scope is a 4x Ajack.

Neat! I wonder if that was the inspiration for the Leopold 2 pc locking system from years ago?

Great looking High Turret! That Ajack with the sunshade creates such a great profile on these. Here is a pic of my byf 44 ex HT sporter rescue that I brought back to its former glory.
