Wanting to get back into shooting / hunting. Last rifle owned and sold 20 yrs ago was Win model 70 with Weaver 3-9 scope. Got boring hitting every elk I shot at. Now, being older and not as nimble, I am looking at varmint sizes. Chucks, rabbits, coyotes, etc. Rifle I am looking at is a Savage 12BVSS 22-250 with a 1 in 12 twist. Still looking at scopes and believe I want a variable maybe 4-20X50 range. I did find a Sightmark 3-60X50 (special order by a sporting goods retailer but forgot their name) any comments???

22-250 will serve you well. Not sure what range you plan to shoot but to take advantage of that case capacity you may want a sharper twist to stabilize heavier bullets. Know nothing about your scope but have fun looking.
