Seems like a lot of reaching to find positive reasons.

3 independent yet mutually supporting fire teams seem to bring more Fire Power than two 6 man teams likely to suffer from too many chiefs……

What did you expect when there are a gaggle of pooftah running the show?

I thought it was "Poofter". Pooftah sounds like a Bostonian version of this 'insult'.

Damnit...I've been insulting them incorrectly for the last 35 years. Thanks to the internet though I guess I an start getting it right.

Planning to take on the human tidal wave Chinese army without artillery, tanks and belt feds. Sounds like a good time.

Adversaries do not like this concept at all,” Gen. Eric Smith, assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, said in March according to Marine Corps Times. “They don’t like the fact that units are highly mobile, that they have a low signature, and that the adversary doesn’t know where these things are.

Which adversaries? How is six more mobile than four? How are six going to leave less signature than four? "The adversary doesn't know where things are " WTF? I guess his star being pinned on let his brain damage show.
The reason for four fire teams has been proven throughout several conflicts.
I wonder how they are going to distribute weapons. One MG per team? So field of fire is now limited?
Tried, tested and proven under fire is shit canned for some ring knocker and a bright idea. How nice.

They are trying to mimic a SF ODA in concept.
    Different missions.

You want your doc, your linguist, your political specialist, the chef and everyone a gunner.

3 leapfrogging, mutually supporting, 4 man fire teams are awesome.

Put an L/CPL with initiative in charge, an automatic riflemen - belt Fed guy that can lay down fire, not dudes ripping through 30 round mags - a grenadier for indirect opportunities. The rifleman for everything.

One team gets wiped out the other two are independent and carry on the mission.

13 man squad is a beast.

It's so funny that people pretend marines have nuanced tactics.

    Marine corps battle drills:
    1. Charge
    2. Charge
    3. Charge
    4. Charge
    5. Charge
    6. Charge harder
Chesty Pullers only tactic trying to take the ridges at Peleliu. It didn’t work out well. His Regiment was broken In less than a week. They didn’t solve the problem until they took the far end and worked backward. Still Japs came out of the cliffs as late as the 50s.

I thought the last one surrendered in the 90's or something. I remember a long Dan Carlin podcast about it.

Tok Tong Pass……fucking brutal to read about.
I have to give Marines flak, that what us Army pukes do.

I’ve seen some hard charging Devil Dogs for sure. Seen some in HCAS do some shit I couldn’t believe I was seeing. I’ve never had to chew a Marine aviators ass for not wanting to provide support or evac assets. I’ve chewed out two Army pilots who were more worried about “the aircraft” instead of the men on the ground who needed help. Marines know one thing, fighting for the men on the left and right, equipment be damned.

Even my beloved Corps has gone woke. Recruiting putting homo rainbows on social media pages. Getting rid of tanks. Letting WMs in the infantry…amazing how much has changed in 20 years.

    Last one surrendered about 1974.

Onoda came out in the Philipines about that time and there is a movie coming out about him.

I think he just died recently in Brazil.

I have a book signed by him somewhere in the house.

I think one came out of the PI after Onoda but he didn’t get as much press.

Just like the waste of money Littoral combat ships that they are now saying will be useless in any sort of battle, are undergunned, and have weak structures that crack under normal use.

Anything with the moniker of "littoral" is a woke, useless, waste of space on this planet.
Omaha, a $440 million LCS commissioned in 2018 — which has since been turned into a training vessel — is one of the ships suffering such cracks.
4 freaking years turned it into scrap.

It's typical peacetime reorganization in search of that next star on the collar that all goes in the shit can once lead starts flying again.

I'm curious what the actual TO/TE is. Are squad leaders now going to be SSgts? Team leaders are Sergeants in the article, so I have to assume that is the case. Plt Sgts are now GySgts? What the fuck is the Corporal going to be now, just an E4 like in the army?

And again I pat myself on the back for leaving when I did, retirement be damned.

Read the article attached to post 22.

The MEU is a capable shit storm fighter ready to respond completely independent and able to “Hold On” until the ass kicking starts.

There is nothing else like it and it is feared when it arrives off your coast.

All I see is nuts floating in formaldehyde.

This was the last USMC birthday 2019 in Boston. They have been cancelled since because of the worlds deadliest pandemic. Dude in the wheel chair, Pacific Vet, kept himself alive to attend the event just to get the cake. This was his last one.

They cancelled 2020 and he died Jan of 21 alone because everyone was freaked about killing him with COVID.

Hearing Berger speak there after listening to Neller kick Trumps bag in for years I had high hopes.

Berger is doing everything Vandegrift fought against.

When 3/4 of the team are trannies and vaccinated lardasses, 4 people can’t do shit. Just carrying a pack will make them drop dead.
