I'm piecing together a work rifle.
I started with a Savage model 12 in .243 that I bought a couple of years ago to shoot n local F-Class matches, of course shortly after I bought the rifle, they folded up the F-Class shooting here.
I would have stayed with the .243 if there was more commercially loaded match ammo, I also considered the 6.5 creedmore, but I needed to get something together now, not later, and the FGMM can be had through LE distibutors for a very good price.
Yes, it is a Choate Varmint stock, that will be replaced as the budget allows, probably with a B&C varmint/tactical stock.
Savage Model 12 with accu-trigger
Lothar-Walther 24", 1-10" SS .308
Falcon Menace 4-14x
EGW 0MOA base
Burris XTR rings
The L-W barrel is a highly polished affair so, out came the Krylon.
The L-W is an excellent barrel, cleans very easily and they normally carry them in stock.
I taped the scope as I didn't want to paint it.
Hopefully a new scope is in my future as well, but I have been VERY pleased with the Falcon.
