Have you guys ever used this mount? I've never been a GG&G fan is there anything out there like it by another manufacturer. I also need one in 1" instead of 30mm anybody know of one like that? Just need it as low as possible.

I think any of the one-piece QD mounts are going to be too tall for a bolt rifle. That GG&G mount for example is 1.4" to centerline. And that's before you add the height of your Picatinny rail! One-piece QD mounts are designed for a flattop AR-15s, not bolt guns.

If you're interested in QD for your bolt rifle, LaRue does make a set of low-height QD rings. You'd also need the 1" reducers.

Or you could get the less expensive Leupold QRW rings.

You can swap from 1" to 30mm to 34mm and keep the same mount, just get ring sets....
Scott at Liberty Optics carris them...
FWIW..... </div></div>
Look nice but these are all too high.

The centerline of the ring is 1.060 inches on the GG&G bolt rifle mount. The one for the AR's is 1.4".

Interesting. I didn't see that before.

Unfortunately they are still a bit high in my opinion. The Larue rings are around 0.850", which is closer to "normal" unless you plan on running a 56mm objective scope on a heavy profile barrel.

Do the larue rings offer a good return to zero? I figured this could only be achieved with a 1pc mount.

A one-piece mount only gets you the best possible chance at true front-to-rear ring alignment, not on-off-on repeatability

LaRue QD levers are the best in the business. They've been tested and have confirmed repeatability to 1/4 MOA or better.

As for LaRue's ring alignment, I'm sure their machining is quite good, but you could always lap the rings just to be sure.
