Need glass for a new build and most of my experience in optics is Red Dots and LPVO's for my Carbines. But I'm shifting more to long range now.

I currently have a PST Gen 2 5-25 on my Bolt Gun (308) and am in the process of building a 6ARC Gas Gun, and need another long range scope.

The Vortex has been great and more than suits my needs. My initial thought was to move the PST Gen 2 to the Gas Gun, and either upgrade the Bolt Gun glass (Razor Gen 2) or just get another PST Gen 2.

I'm having some second thoughts though, especially since I've basically only been looking at the Vortex lines, and the Razor is 2x the cost of my PST Gen2

Are there options in the 1k-1.5k range that I should be considering? Or should I just bite the bullet and shell out for the Razor?

I have access to a 1200 yard range, but generally shoot 6-800 yards. Want FFP, 20x or more on the top end magnification, don't use much less than 10x on the low end, with a good christmas tree reticle. I've starting shooting some local matches, and intend to shoot more, but most of my shooting is off the bench.

Other options off the top of my head (when on sale), Bushnell XRS II, Burris XTR II or XTR III, Sig Tango6, Eotech Vudu. Besides for the Burris, I believe the rest are made by LOW in Japan.

I have both the Razor (2 of em) and the PST Gen 2. The PST has treated me well for the price, but when you start to stretch it out, the glass quality becomes more apparent. I tend to get eye strain a lot quicker on the PST. I haven't taken it out in more than a year.

The Razor is much better all the way around.
