Question.
I'm looking at a couple of scopes. One is the Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44. The other is the tried and true IOR 2.5-10x42.
I haven't look through a PST or HST but I have owned the older Vipers and according the their website, they are using the same glass coatings, etc. While I love the Vortex scopes I've owned, based on what I remember, I don't think that the quality of the Viper is up to par with the IOR, even though it's a much older design.
I guess the caveat is that the used Vipers are going for half the price of the used IORs. While the IOR, IMO, has the better glass and reticle, I'm not sure it's twice as good.
Am I remembering correctly? Any input?
