Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock Gen. 3 or 4?

Re: Glock Gen. 3 or 4?

I bought a Gen 4 G19 last year when they first came out. I was looking for a Gen 3, but settled on the Gen 4.

Honestly, the Gen 4 is more comfortable for me and I do like the grip.

I fired 10 100 rd boxes of the cheap Wal-Mart Winchester value pack ammo with the original spring. I also ran a couple boxes of Winchester JHP and some +P through it. I had zero problems to that point. They sent me the "new and improved spring" and I recently installed it. Thus far, no issues with the new spring through 300 additional rounds.

Ergonomically, the Gen 4 is superior. The track record, I believe, will come.

Re: Glock Gen. 3 or 4?

I am curious about the reported issues with the 4's as I have not heard of any until now. I've shot a 26(4) and no problems what so ever. As to the 3s, I broke two recoil springs with a 17 and know of another guy who broke one on his (.40). The spring guide and stop on the 3s were always my complaint. I like the spring design on the 4s as it looked to be a major improvement.

Re: Glock Gen. 3 or 4?

I've owned a G26, G27, and G32, all 3rd gen guns. I currently own a G19 4th gun gun. No problems with any of them.

I really like the size of the G19, I dont' see this one going anywhere. In fact, I'd like to pick up another one. 3rd or 4th gen won't make a difference as long as the price is right.
