Suppressors glock slide staying open after every shot

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

you took it apart huh?....take the two front pins out again, remove the slide catch. re-insert top pin, then slide catch, then bottom pin that holds catch. Jeff

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

Sounds like your slide release is bent.
Ive been having problems with mine not staying open after the last round. Not sure if its the slide catch or worn mags

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

Very well FM. One of two. #1. the prob is as I described above...easy fix. #2. wire spring for slide catch is broken. Either way...you need to take the two pins out to inspect the catch. If the spring is good, re-assemble as described. Jeff

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

New gun, been doing it right from the box? Just started the pistol has run fine before?.

I'm wondering if the bullet isn't catching the slide release and push the tab up inside the gun. The XD's had this happen with some of the first runs.

May want to remove your slide and insert a mag with ammo and see if you can tell if the bullet is coming to contact with the release inside the pistol. With the mag in remove a round slowly and watch the next round as its coming up and right as it centers up in the mag see if it drags the release. You can also load the mag with the second round in the mag away from the side with the release tab. then see if it fires both and hangs up on the thrid.

Not sure if Glock ever had this problem but it just a thought.

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

Are you riding the slidestop with your thumb? It can work both ways.. causing your slide not to stay open on last shot.. and also causing your slide to lock back if your thumb is pushing it up. Try again shooting it but make sure your thumbs are well away from the slide stop.

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

FM...I always have guys get back from armorers school, strip the weapon a couple times, put it back together and just miss that lst point. In the wrong order, the top pin will lock the slide catch spring up, causing the slide to lock back EVERY tome. The guys are right though shooting position with the thumb matters. Also remove mag, and just pull the slide back and release. If it catches, take it apart. Jeff

There should be DOWN spring pressure on the slide stop. Forcing the slide stop to go down/home position. If you pull the slide back with no mag and it locks back, its backwards also if you pull the slide off and the slide stop springs UP, the spring is installed wrong. Also with the slide locked back, you should be able to grab the slide and pull it back all the way and the slide stop should release drop down/home with no mag or full mag, empty mag will keep the slide stop in the up position.

Re: glock slide staying open after every shot

Jeff You are the man!!! Did the pin thing top then bottom as soon as I put the top pin in I heard a snap and already had DOWN pressure on the slide lock. No mag slide does not lock put a dry mag in slide locks back. Works perfect now thanks again Jeff and everyone else who commented.

Thanks again everyone what a great site! FM

I thought about that and even tried holding it down with my thumb while firing. Couldn't
But good ideas and thanks anyways!
