Your post asked about mounts........

Once you get a good base, you can use any quality rings.

If you want to mount the scope in one fell swoop, the best bet is BKL rings/mount.

The Millet Angle-loc rings are excellent IMO. They let you zero the scope windage and shoot to the optical center of the reticle, unlike many of the other designs out there.

They're also not particularly expensive at ~ 20/set.

I've got better than 5000 rounds through my bolt action Marlin with a set and haven't had a single problem with them.

What we did over the weekend is put these BSquare dovetail to weaver adapters on a Marlin Papoose .22 stainless

BSquare 17025 Precision Airgun 3/8" to Weaver Adapter, 2-piece, matte black

For $29. Then we topped with a Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x in Lupy PRW low rings. Not the cheapest setup, but ROCK solid and the owner is very happy.

Otherwise, Rimfire Technologies is a great source for unique .22 bases and rails
