What is some .223/5.56 factory ammo that has a decent bullet and decent brass for reloading after?

I'm new to the ar/.223 game so I am once again a beginner in all this.

This is just a plinking inside of 100 yards maybe a few out to 300 but nothing seriouse past 100. Basically a CQB load.

Years ago I bought every kind of 223 ammo I could order, and tested them for accuracy in my AR15s. There was a clear winner.

I have not shot any PMC 223 55 gr target ammo in more than 5 years, but I always got way better groups than with Federal Gold Match and much much cheaper.

The groups were competitive with my careful Vmax handloads.

It was unavailable for a long time, but I see it is back.
Don't confuse PMC with PMP.
No guarantees 5 years later, but I would not leave that stone unturned if I were to now buy factory ammo.

Re: Good .223 factory ammo

What brass is BH and PMC??

Again just looking for good brass. I don't want to blow
my pocket on match loads.

Basically im looking for cheapest factory ammo I can grab with great reloading brass.

And how do you know which PMC factory ammo is crimped or not?

Re: Good .223 factory ammo

PMC brass is PMC brass. It works well enough for the price.

If you can't find anything locally go here:

Pick out whichever brass cased stuff tickles your fancy and order it. You'll get it in a week and it will be cheaper than the gas it takes you to go to the local shop and back.

You dont pay hazard fee's for that??

Yaa I was just so surprised on how much it costs on midway for brass and bullets for .223...

Its going to cost me as much as my 175 SMK match loads...
