yes, IMO it is the best starting platform out there, when time comes to upgrade there are plenty of choices to upgrade youre existing rifle.

Its a great starter package and Mel is GTG from a delivery standpoint. He has built a fairly decent community and a lot of the folks who have gotten one of these rifles have been fairly happy with it.
The one thing to keep in mind about that package is that you are taking a production rifle and only really "assembling" on top of it. He isnt doing an action job or anything like that on these. So you are getting basically a stock production rifle that has a set of the basic accessories you need to start shooting.
Remington has had a couple of QC problems lately in terms of more crap than usual making it out the doors.
Thats really the only risk I would identify and there is nothing that anyone getting a Remington rifle can do about it. The production line rifles are what they are.
