I remember in sniper school the instructors had fairly large swaro spotters. They had no reticles but they had huge objectives and were really nice for spotting trace behind the students.

Anyone know which model they were using?

I need to get one or two. I know they arent cheap but I need something that is fairly high quality.

Let me know if you have any insight on those models or anything that you think would fit the bill.

Thoughts are appreciated.

If I remember correctly those are about $5,000. So you'd be saving money by getting the Kowa, over 2 separate swarovski spotters plus eyepieces.

Any of the top notch spotters (Zeiss, Swarov, Leica etc) give you the best chance to spot trace as you describe, they don't necessarily need to have giant objective lenses.

Focus techniques on the spotter and, more importantly, conditions along with a good scope are the keys to spotting trace.
