Rifle Scopes Goodbye VTR!

I have corrected my temporary mental lapse, and got rid of my engineering marvel for a new SPS tactical. I plan on not rushing this one, and putting together something I really look forward to shooting.

Could any of you suggest a good mil-dot optic in the 500-900 dollar range for this rifle. It is intended strictly for the range, with the maximum I shoot being 400 yards.

Since I want this rifle to be my main shooter for quite a while, I would rather put down more money for something a little better (I'm not made of money though!)

I'm not biased towards any brand, so I look forward to hearing your experiences with anything for this niche.

Do you want actual mil-dots? if so this may not apply, but these are my suggestions:

Vortex viper pst 4-16x50 ffp or vortex viper 6-24x50 ffp

Its only 400 yards, I don't see why you'd need anything more than that.

Good call. I got rid of my VTR for an SPS Tactical.

I suggest the 3-9x42 SS FFP scope or the Bushnell Elite 4200 FFP scopes (if you can find them). In my experience, they are the best bang for the $.

When the PST's are out in force that will be the go-to scope for the 5-900 buck segment. If I were you I'd call liberty or cameralandny and get my name on the list for one. If you can live with SFP they may have some in stock...

I have an 2.5-10x42 IOR FFP that is pretty awesome...i would look at there fixed 10x in that price range
