I stumbled on a FN PSR Precision Shooting Rifle today. I know they advertised 3 models of these a couple years back n 300 wsm and 308 but never sold any. It has "FN Precision Shooting Rifle" on the action and barrel. The serial is also odd, G 3000X, on the bolt and action. It has a brown painted mcmillan stock that looks just like the ones they had in the old FN PSR adds they had out, see here for there old PDF o,http://www.fnhusa1.com/PDF/FNH08PSR.pdf. It has a the standard current issue SPR one piece rail mount with 6-48 screws, not 8-40 like the SPR/PBR series, odd?? 24" heavy fluted barrel. One piece steel bottom metal, almost looks like a Williams bottom metal set to me as the quality is really good. It has the MOA trigger, not the older winchester design model that the adds say the PSRs would have. Last but not least it is a 30-06 Springfield, that was not even in the adds. I will get some pics up this weekend. Just a cool find I thought I would share.

You didn't happen to buy that off the campfire did you? There was one on there a little while back and I missed it by only a few minutes. Nice grab and you'll have to give us some pictures and range reports.

Re: Got an FN PSR Prototype today COOL!!

Finally got some pics of this gun. It is now being rebedded as the factory bedding was crap and refinished as it had a lot of small dings in the finish. Looks like in and out of safe marks to me so redoing it in satin black KG Gun Kote. Be safe all. Z

That "extra hardware" is the proper location for a safety which locks the bolt out as opposed to some manufacturers who think that interfering with the trigger is a good idea for a safety.

Hadda' go there

Re: Got an FN PSR Prototype today COOL!!

Paul Mauser thought that locking the firing pin was the best option versus blocking the trigger, who I am to argue with greatness.

I put a Gentry Win 70 style 3 position on my sole Remington 700, way safer. Z

Re: Got an FN PSR Prototype today COOL!!

Hey thanks for the info!! Now I'm off to find out why, one is safer than the other!! But I'll do that search on my own, don't want to hijack the thread.

Thanks again
