Hunting & Fishing Got my first elk - Pics up

Just got back from my very first elk hunt near Cripple Creek, Colorado. Me and my buddy both tagged out on a couple of bulls. We celebrated with a "few" Bud Lights!!!!!

Looks like you had a good hunt. Whats the specs on the rifle and the distance on the shot?

Rifle is a custom .300 win mag built by Patriot Arms and the shot was 125 yds.

I am actually trying to sell this rifle - its now field proven - LOL!!!

I was having fun gutting that bad boy!! I was on cloud 9 just having killed my first elk.

The guide could not believe I wanted to gut it, but I explained to him that I have gutted everything I ever killed except my very first deer when I was 12 - my uncle showed me how to do it, then said the rest is on me.

I grew up on a farm, so that type of stuff doesn't bother me - it was just 1 more part of the experience and made it that much better!!!
