Just for a rehash, here's the barreled action I got back from Michael sitting in my A-5. Ignore the buckmaster, it's just there so I could get it out shooting this weekend.
First group after getting it on paper, with zero load development (this is 200 yards, kids):
1.160" center-to-center. 44.5 grains RL-15, 175SMK .030" off the lands, 210M, winny/RP brass.
And while I realize that 3 shots isn't a real group, and I should have shot 38 shots to really get a feel for things, this was the last 3 rounds I had in that load. So friggin deal with it. Or hell...don't. I don't care either way.
That's at 300 yards, on a railroad tie plate. shots are numbered as 1 was almost completely overrun by 3. Coke can added for reference.
Pretty sure with some more load development (no pressure signs at all, so I'm bumping the powder level up for next time) this should continue shooting well for at least a few weeks, if not longer.
On a serious note, if you want a rig built and don't want to wait for the lead times some of the more well-known smiths have right now, have no fear sending to CCA. He'll take very good care of you, and work with you to build you exactly what you want, and get it to you in a more than reasonable time frame.
Michael––job well effing done, man. Ringing the steel (actually kept knocking down one of the swinging targets hanging from a sawhorse) almost got boring today. ALMOST.
