Finally got it zeroed in. Used Hornady AG 140’s. Pretty happy with the way it shot. I’m sure I’ll get a little better with some more trigger time, but pleased so far given it’s my first time shooting it and I’m not using match ammo or handloads.

I have another group that measured .300” (actually a few thousandths less, but who’s counting) but I’m not 100% sure it was 5 shots. It may have only been 4. I don’t remember because I wasn’t shooting for groups yet, I was just zeroing the scope.

The AG shot pretty good I thought. But the SD has me a little worried about shooting it to 1000 yards. 19 isn't the worst I've ever seen but it isn't very good, either.

It works better than I thought it would at 1,000 yards. It was a no brainer when it was 80 cents/round. At $1 per round, I am more apt to spend the $1.20 and by ELD-M when shooting at 1,000 yards.

It looks like my first measurement was damn close. Second was a little off. And it does look like the second group was a 4-shot group so it doesn't count lol. Oh well, still happy so far.

So, crazy (or maybe stupid) question. Would it be worth it to take apart 20-30 rounds of this AG ammo, measure all the powders charges, and then load them back up using the average obtained, while also seating them uniformly? I’m all tapped out money-wise for the time being and I feel like it could possibly make them more precise, velocity-wise.

    *UPDATE*
In order to avoid creating a new thread, I thought I would just stick this here:

My buddy and I went out to Fouled Bore in Ninnekah, OK. about an hour from me. We shot from 0-1000 with a couple pop shots at 1300 (I think). We had a 10-15 mph 7-8 o'clock wind on the range all morning. This is the first time I've ever shot over 300 yards, and I have to say that up to 800 was ridiculously easy with this rifle. Over 400 or so up to about 800 was point and click, holding left edge or just a bit more. Over 800 and we really needed to start concentrating on wind calls and holds. 1000 yards was about a mil and a half left hold. I was surprised how well 140gr AG was holding together out to 1000. 1300 was a different story. They seemed to be all over the place at 1300. That, combined with the wind, and I was unable to hit at 1300 :( I'm sure with more practice, it's doable. Maybe with the ELD-Ms, as the AGs seemed to walk vertically at that distance. One would be perfect vertically, missing right. I'd adjust for the wind, and the very next shot would miss way low. Looks like 1300 is right around the transonic region for this round and my velocities.
