You know very well Brother that you are 100% right. He was the only authoritive figure he would listen to. He loved Cus and Cus loved the kid. It's no coincidence when Cus passed and Don King sunk his teeth into Tyson that he spiraled.

I always thought he was a thug. Then I watched him improve himself as a person and own up to who is, was, and where he needed to go. I'm glad to be proven wrong.

Mike seemed to hit a rough patch when D'Amato died, and he has taken a few detours, but I think he is ok now. And the rape conviction was bogus. That woman went to his room intending to do what she had to do to get mikes vote. She only realized that she had been raped when she did not win the pageant. That is not rape, at worst (if Mike did not vote for her) it might be theft of services for not paying a hooker what she was promised.
As much as he's gone from top to bottom and lately tried to reinvent himself, cartoon and all, I'll always remember him as a punk ass wife beater. I have only slightly less respect for child molesters as I do wife beaters, as both prey on the innocent who trust them. Fuck Tyson and his fellow ilk.
Tyson was merely a product of his era, which he pretty much dominated. Heavyweights today would put him on a fast track to being a punch drunk bum. Even a "prime" Tyson. Today they are to big, long ,strong and athletic.
Robin Givens got over 10 million bucks of Tyson's money after the divorce. Hell, I'd be Tyson's punching bag for less than that!
Don't care too much for him as a man, but as a fighter he was awesome to grow up watching. As far as that interview.....EPIC!
