Have owned handguns for years but am looking to expand my horizons. Have an ar15 and am interested in learning and shooting further.

Maryland is not a great state to be a gun owner. Nonetheless, depending on where you live, there are some good ranges nearby. If you're in MoCo or farther west, Peacemaker is a great option. It's definitely worth the drive and they have classes you can take. Engage Armament in Rockville also does some training as well. If you want an excellent introduction to long range shooting, contact Ed Shell. He's one of the best trainers around and can set you up for training in central Virginia for a few days. Great dude.
