Hello hide folks,

I’m not new to shooting but I’m totally new to long range stuff. I’ve been reading posts here (thank you all! ) and listening to Frank’s podcast and it’s got me really interested in long range precision. I have some decent tools - a good hunting rifle, and a good gas gun, but nothing yet for real distance. I’ve appreciated all the good reviews on gear. I’ve sorted out what the rifle will be, but still struggling with glass and some other things. This forum has been an invaluable resource as far as glass. Getting reviews from folks who shoot with the different optics makes a huge difference. I think I’m finally narrowing it down. I’m being careful about gear purchases because I’m *so* not that guy that can afford tons of random gear and pick & choose from my collection on a whim. For instance, I’m selling guns I don’t shoot just to buy ONE suitable for long range shooting.

I’m lucky enough to live only about an hour from Mile High, and those folks are absolutely fantastic. I’ve spent considerable time there without buying a thing just asking questions and learning. And Frank’s podcast has helped me uncover the biggest hole in my shooting skills: FUNDAMENTALS! My fundamentals are lacking/non-existent. I don’t know what I don’t know. The Everyday podcast has at least helped me get a handle on what I don’t know, and I think what I really need to do is take Mike & Frank’s 3-day class.

Anyway, hello from the Denver area. Thanks to all of you who post your equipment reviews - know you’re helping me at least learn what works for you and hopefully I can make good decisions about what works for me! Maybe I’ll run into some of you on the shooting range.

Scott
