Perhaps this has been covered somewhere here but for the life of me and after repeated uses of the search.....I gave up and am just going to ask.
I had just received my built AA(Alexander Arms) 6.5 grendel. I am in the process of still breaking it in with the AA ammo my friend who built the gun gave me. Of course it is Lapua brass. My question is this after some time searching......is the Hornady brass worthy to feed through my AA upper and how does it hold up to repeated reloadings in a mild to medium load? I know you get what you pay for but at nearly half the cost of Lapua perhaps I was thinking Hornady might be worth a shot. Just don't want to screw my weapon up is all. Lastly any good Grendel talks anywhere?

Thanks and have a nice day.

Sid

Re: Grendel brass

I have a couple of grendels, and have had 2 AAs. My opinion, stick with the Lapua. Much stronger, much more consistent, doesn't expend nearly as much at similar pressures. My two bits....

Re: Grendel brass

the hornady is nice brass but fairly soft, the primer pocket will loosen up within a few reloads, get the lapua or AA brass, more expensive but lasts much much longer.

+1...your Grendel will approve

Re: Grendel brass

Did they give you a lot number on the brass?
I suppose running a few in a 6.5 Grendel case gauge will tell me. I bought 5 boxes 5 months ago and will check them
thanks for the heads up

Make sure you size your brass beforehand.

AA says you don't need to size new brass. They are full of shit. Size every piece out of the box.

Really? I have 500 AA brass and haven't had to touch it. I just neck size too.
