Guy on motorcycle vs guy in car..... yeah.

For people support this guy, here is your hero: Samir Helio Pazzoto Filho.

This is certainly no 20 year-old lone female fearing for her life that’s 100 pounds soaking wet. This guy looks to be 6 foot plus and 200+ pounds.

As a lifetime biker who has over 150K miles in the saddle, this story and the reactions to it are really disheartening. Riding a motorcycle these days is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Add to the fact that I’m blind in one eye, just taking a leisurely ride with these psychopaths in cars on the road today, is a life or death matter. It is “running with the bulls”.

I call intersections “The Death Zone”. It is the place where human impatience meets stupidly.

In many states, if I so much is show my firearm in a threatening manner or reach for its grip on my side, I’m guilty of assault. But every time I go out on a motorcycle, somebody points 4000+lb weapon at me and either is reckless, negligent, distracted(cell phone), incompetent or threatening, as if it is simply par for the course.

If you are a biker who rides a lot you will be hit by one of these psychopaths. It is only a matter of time.

Sure there are a lot of asshole bikers. They are the ones who make the news. But I can tell you from experience there are many more hard-working good people out there driving their motorcycles minding their damn business every single day just trying to stay alive.

For the record, I have opposed laws like the one recently passed in Colorado that allows “lane filtering”. I do believe it will be abused and I believe it will cause more tension between cars and motorcycles.

Every single time I get on my motorcycle, my primary mindset and focus before I turn that key is on these assholes driving cars who will threaten to kill me with their actions. It’s not whether my bike tire will blow or will brakes fail or will I crash for some other reason. It is will some person in a car, who could care fucking less, kill me today.

but if you go dorking up the highway with another dork, then come up beside them and try a rolling argument or whatever, like the crashed guy, then you exponentially increase the odds of getting hit right?

I dont know statistics, but im sure that over the years, most motorcycle crashes on hwy 12 have got to be rider error.

And to be clear, this hose head needs to be locked up. He purposely ran over the bike,

I used to ride, and it is because of the reasons above that I'm a "changed man" to this day. For the rest of my life. While I'm happy to still be living, all that has changed is not exactly fun. Nor wanted.

Long before the accident, I was of the opinion that ANY new driver (I don't care about age, country of origin, competence...) should ONLY be able to operate a 50cc scooter for the first 2 years.

In less than 10 years, probably less than 5, there will be a LOT more attentive drivers out there, and those numbers will only grow. And yes, obviously those scooters would not be legal on a highway. It's only logical.

The only way to make improvements on society, is for people to learn. In this case, make-em-learn the proper way. The "drivers training" and the "learners license" system as it is, obviously isn't working near well enough.

We have a large number of electric scooters on the streets. Stop signs, traffic lights, yield signs, etc do not apply. Have watched them split lanes to run through stop signs/red lights. They will tell you they have the same right to use the street, but when it serves them, they transition to the sidewalk. When I see one, I expect him to do any number of stupid things.

Import the 3rd world. Get the 3rd world

Ever since all this rioting, race, gold casket, illegal invaders & COVID stuff (all manufactured political IMO)…it’s a totally different country now.

Nothing is normal anymore it seems. It’s nuts out there.

Just last Friday right down the road from me police had the spike and force stop a car load of 13s after a 30 mile chase. They had to shoot 2 of them. Figures they lived.

10 much less 20 years ago id have never had anything like that happen here.

I see nutty bikers doing dumb shit on the roads these days. Id never drive them things around here anymore

Yesterday I was driving home in my truck. Weather has been rainy and cold the last few days or else I would have been on my 2002 Magna. There were a couple of crotch rocket riders being idiots. Well geared but being idiots. One was on an r6 and the other was on a zx10r. They eventually went in the hov lane (here it is a lane separated by a double white line). They both slowed down and then sorta had a race against each other. Got up to at least 90. Then they slowed way down to get lots of room in front of them. Then the r6 zoomed by going at least 110 with the other one going at least 90. I was highly highly tempted to go into the other lane to get in front of them. Being that stupid on the freeway should hurt at times.

I don't do near as much highway riding as I once did any more. I have an adventure bike now, so I mainly use pavement to find the less beaten path to explore.

I usually shy away from any routes that have a lot of traffic lights. An overabundance of traffic lights means population density is a bit too thick.
