Rings and Leupold MARK 3HD I put on.
Please give details on rings. The mount is HK quick detach mount but rings don't look like the HK rings supplied with that mount. Reason I ask, the HK rings are fragile. The SL7 and 770 are very accurate. Don't be on the right side of rifle when it's fired, ejection is energetic!Ejected brass is ugly but quite reloadable. Do not sell that rifle ever, if you do you will regret it!

Nice gun.

I have the later 770 model

Beautifully built series, I wish H&K had stuck to doing such beautiful hunting rifles and not given up the market.
Also there were HK 270 in 22lr,HK 300 in 22Mag. HK 940 in 30'06, and HK 630 in .223.All sweet, $$ and rare.

I think that scope is too heavy for the HK mount.
The mount will loose zero between shots fairly quickly due to wear.

I've been through 3 770'ies and one SL6. And 6 mounts..

Get an "old" fixed 4x or 6x42 S&B with the old style rail usually used for claw mounts.
The rail fit straight on to the HK mount without rings.
If the scope then is too low for the rear sight get a new/spare G3 drum and modify it so it don't touch the scope.
Google pics.

Yes an older thread, but as a fellow SL7 owner, don’t forget to check the buffer inside the receiver to prevent any serious issues. Great rifles and hope to get mine out soon! Congrats good find.
Thanks for the tip! Now you got me going, need to take it out shooting today or tomorrow. If you get out with yours post some pictures…
