I recently bought an H&K SL8-1 from another hide member, and i was wondering what scope this was:

This is a genuine H&K scope i think. I want to put a scope on it so i was thinking either that H&K scope, a falcon menace 5-25x50, or a super sniper variable power 3-9x42. I really want the falcon menace but i heard they are huge and mounting a scope on an H&K SL8 can be pretty difficult due to the scope being mounted too high. any advice?

Re: H&K SL8 optic

oh its only 1.5x? shoot thats a no go. i thought it would be at least a 3.5x. why would you say the falcon menace over the super sniper? from what i have read, i am also leaning towards the falcon menace. im going to be using the gun at maybe 200 to 300 yards.

Re: H&K SL8 optic

I have not seen that scope in person but I have used the g36's 1x 3x dual sight module that people often attach to the sl8. It was one of the worst pieces of glass I have ever come upon. Tiny feild of view, heavily tinted, and poor clarity. If the 1.5x is anything like this run. Run far far away.

Re: H&K SL8 optic

I would steer you away from the Falcon. Unless you are a guy that likes seeing the holes you shoot in paper, that rifle doesn't come close to matching the useful power range of the scope. Give USO 1.8-10x37mm or Nightforce 2.5-10 a look, if they are within your budget. I had that rifle and routinely shot it out to 300 yards...very accurate but no way should it wear a 5-25 IMO.

Re: H&K SL8 optic

I only have little money to spend with, i used most of my money buying the H&K SL8. I wish i had enough money to afford the nightforce or USO but sadly i will not acquire enough spending money to think about getting one, at least for a long while. The reason i look at the falcon menace and super sniper is that i hear many good things about both, and both are mil/mil (the biggest plus). I am just getting into scopes and so i thought those two would make a good starter scope.

My budget is probably around $500-$600, I dont work or anything so i have no income and thats why it would take me forever for me to raise enough money to buy a Nightforce or USO, although I am planning to buy a Nightforce or USO scope in the future when I am done with school.
