Anyone use this powder in a 308? LGS here has like a metric ton of the stuff, just wondering how it ran. Hodgdon lists it as a useable powder, only thing is that the max load is 49gn's, which seems absurd to me.

EDIT: Never mind, found Varget. However, unusual powder types are something I'm interested in for the 308 Win

Win 760 is said to be the same powder as H414 and I have used both with similar results in a 30-06 load, one issue is that ball powder does not compress as well as an extruded type of powder such as 4064, Varget, etc. you didn't mention the brand of your brass or bullet weight your loading for.

Oh, sorry, I'm running Remington and Hornady brass at the moment with 178gn AMAX's. Federal 210 primers
