Doing a lightweight switch barrel for hunting/target.. both will have 24" barrels. I'll probably shoot 139-142gr in the 6.5 and 162-180 in the .284. With the shorter 24" barrel, is one powder going to work better than the other (if I can even find any)?

Thanks,
Hawk

I don't have clue about .284 guns , but in an overbore cartridge, like 6.5x284 the slower powder works best. H4831 & RL-22 come to mind as proven powders.

Have some RL22 I use for .243 and 300WM, maybe I'll give that a try along with the H4350. No luck on finding H4831SC. And I'm worried the super slows like Retumbo won't get max burn in the short 24" barrel.
