H4831SC for 6-6.5x47 or different loads ?

Re: H4831SC for 6x47

I use N-160 and R17,Search my posts.I put some of my loads up recently.

I had some temperature sensitivity with 4350 in my 6.5-284 years ago and quit using it.Maybe a bad batch of powder.I don't know?

H4350 gets me 3175fps with the 105's. It is the only powder that I have tried.

Re: H4831SC for 6x47

Sendero,
No.It was the H4350.It might be because 4350 is on the fast side for 6.5-284 with 140's.I got the gun in March worked up a load.Next time out one month later(hotter temps), was causing a sticky bolt.Went home, pulled bullets, worked up new load.Again one month later(even hotter temps) I had an exact repeat of the proceeding month, pissed off, went home pulled bullets.I switched to H4831 after that but the barrel was short lived.Since then I started doing ladder tests and that has helped.

6x47L,38.8 R-17,CCI450,115 B's,3120fps.........39.5 N-160,CCI450 115DTACS,3070fps

Yes the 4831 is to slow for this case. I have been using rl-15 and varget to get extra fps out of it because the 4350 was getting close to to slow as well. With 37.5 grains of rl-15 im gettin 3200fps with the 108 bib's.

what barrel length ?

Re: H4831SC for 6x47

3200-3250 is what we are getting with H4350 and 105 bergers. Barrel lengths range from 26-28". My 30" target rifle runs right at 3300 with the same load. We use H4350 and CCI450 primers. Most of our cases have 10-12 loadings on them.
