Had to relieve some stress

So I had to go to the ranch today so my father and I could put down one of the horses. It was really hard since he was one of the friendliest horses we ever had. But old age and serious health failure meant it was time.

Dad suggested that we go out behind the ranch and do a little shooting to relieve the stress of it. I'm glad for the suggestion because it really helped us to relax.

We did some shooting at a steel plate at 500 yards. This was the first time my dad has shot past 100 yards. His first shot went just over the target so we dialed his scope down a bit and he put his next two shots right on the plate. In fact his two shots were only 2-1/2" apart.

I stepped up and put 5 shots on plate one after the other. My group measured a crappy 4-1/2" I'm sorry to say. My excuse though is I was using 40 year old technology and a straight 10x scope

The horse (which I'm sorry to hear about), the ranch, and the pics all made me think of Ian Tyson.
