Harris Bipod copper colored metal ring upgrade?

I've noticed one thing about my Harris Bipod that bothers me. It's the little copper colored metal coil ring on the front of the bipod that keeps the little arm that's attached to the sling swivel clamps.

Has anyone upgraded this with something like a stainless cotter pin?

I haven't had any problems with any of my Harris bi-pods. They all work as they should, so I haven't seen a reason to upgrade.

What about it bothers you? I never had a problem with mine. I guess you could find a different pin for it but why fix something that isn't broken. To upgrade a Harris just install a Pod-loc and be done.

I tore mine off. I took off the sling stud retention thingie too.


But my bipod is on an ARMS QD mount...sooo
