This past two weeks I have seen an abundance of Harris Sbrm 6-9s, the desireable one, for sale.

Most appear unused, even more convenient they have Pod Locs already installed or some high speed rail attachments.

Did I miss some post that the next greatest bipod was released and everyone is selling to buy the new thing?

I'm aware of Atlas, love mine, but Im happy I scored a nice Harris for a rifle with a sling stud.

Been wondering the same thing ! Perhaps it is the rush to ARCA rail attachments - but there is a conversion adapter for that too.

I’ve got too many so will prob sell one or two just to buy other gear.

Wish I saw some for a good price. I need another one. They usually have those adapters I don't need and going for $140+. All my rifles have sling studs as they hold a bipod just fine.

I am wondering the same. Perhaps it has something to do with the Mapgul bipod being released soon. Oh well. Can always use another Harris so the more for sale the better in my opinion. I like the old sling stud mounted swivel Harris's.

Bought one brand new with pod loc and a knights rail attachment for about $100 including dealing other items the seller had.

Lots of good pod deals right now for some reason.

I wish I was one of the cool kids in the know about what is coming out to obsolete them.

I would have said they were obsolete a long time ago. Just depends how much money one is willing to spend.:)

I loves my Atlas but before I screw a rail on this obsolete rifle Ill use a custom sling stud threaded to fit the wichita swivel fitting and mount an obsolete Harris....

I've noticed a number of them too and have been sorely tempted. I have three Harris and now an Atlas CANT. I like the Atlas but I shall never denigrate the Harris. It just works...and works.

Obsolete doesn't mean it doesn't still work. Preferring it doesn't mean its not obsolete. I put the smily face in there to show I wasn't criticizing, just opining.

I have a few Harris pods. I do not prefer them to other, better designs available. YMMV, as it seems to.

No your tongue in cheek jest was understood and you are correct there are sweeter designs out there.....sometimes though old and old go together like peanut butter and jelly.

I couldn't agree more. I have lots of obsolete favorites. The Harris and I just never got along.

    To Rob01,

My primary rifle uses do not revolve around matches, but I do like to shoot them and would prefer to shoot more of them. I know others feel as you do, and for that reason. For me, on the shot timer, there doesn't seem to be a meaningful time difference in deploying a harris vs. some of my other bipods. I do not do the 550 cord trick with it though, so that may be a factor if you do.

Said it was what I want. If you can open/close others as fast then I am sure they will work. The match timer will tell.
