Hart Barrels

Re: Hart Barrels

Their about 45 mins from me here in PA, I have a .308 that was barreled w/a Hart and that thing shoots very well. They didn't do the work but they are top notch shop too.

Re: Hart Barrels

I've had about 20 Hart barrels since the mid 60's and never a complaint.

It used to be if you checked the benchrest equipment lists it was a split between Hart and Shilen and most of that seemed to be based on East shooters (Hart), Western shooters (Shilen). Now the same lists show an occasional Hart or Shilen but Krieger and Bartlein seem to be the hot choices today, all across the country. Today, except for one Remington, my rifles are split between Hart and Krieger and one shoots as good as the other. Until recently,I have used the same guy to cut my chambers and fit my barrels for years. He just retired and moved. I believe that if you have a good custom barrel, regardless of maker, your SMITH has more to do with how your rifle shoots than the barrel maker. Get the Hart.

SFC, would that be Mr. Tennison? I remember him speaking very highly of Hart.
