Gunsmithing Has anyone tried to thread a Magnum Research carbon fiber barrel?

It looks like everything would be ok if I don't take big cuts but I thought I would check here to see if anyone has actually dome one...any sage-like wisdom out there on this procedure?

yeah we have played with carbon barrels at the shop, the bullet his its mark the break hit about ten feet from there... not a good idea I am over the carbon barrel craze.

This is the exact model I was asked to thread (1/2x28) so he can install a silencer.

For your best interest i would just tell the customer no, that carbon fiber is a pain in the ass to work with especially in the lathe it tends to vibrate and chatter from my experience building a few of these barrels. good luck!

I called Magnum Research and asked. The guy I spoke with said the end cap is too thin.
