A lot of times the final product with custom work can entail some level of disappointment when you don't know who your working with.

Not so with the guys down at Accurate Ordnance in Winder GA. Posting this on the forum just because the guys down there went the extra mile bedding a rifle for me and I feel they deserve some credit for it. Short story is that the stock I waited 10 months for came in with an overly long shank cutout for a featherweight barrel. When I dropped everything off I showed it to Mark, who I think is the owner, and told him I wasn't sweating the extra gap as I was going to be dragging the rifle up an down a mountain so wasn't too worried about the aesthetics.

Well to my surprise they not only bed the stock, but they filled the gap, then painted and finished it to the point that the fitment of this old mountain rifle to its new stock looks as nice as any high end custom fiberglass stocked rifle I have seen. These guys already have a great reputation which is why I went to extra efforts to have them do the work, and I am glad I did. I get the feeling they don't let anything out of their doors that isn't up to a very high standard.

    Wow, very pleased!

    Picture or it didn't happen.

We’ll keep in mind this wasn’t a full build from them. The idea was to put a more functional stock on a factory Model 70 featherweight compact and maintain the compactness, light weight, and balance. Not worried about finish as it’s going to get drug through mountain laurels. The cheap scope works well and won’t cost an arm and a leg to replace if dropped off some rocks.

30 cal in the form factor of an air rifle. Very happy with the results.
