head space help

I just re-barreled my savage 10 .308. used a fosters go gauge. tested my reloads and 8 out of ten go in great and smooth. 1 locks in a little tight, and one wont close. do i re gauge it with a piece of tape on the back? or leave it, and it might be my case? any info would be great. thanks

I'm betting your sizing die isn't bumping the shoulder back quite far enough. The HS gage is probably not out of spec being the fact you mentioned these were reloads.

Have you measured your cases in a case gauge? If the bolt closes on most of your cases then it is not the headspace - tho it might be on the tight side of the spec. Something else to look at is case length.
