Gunsmithing Head Space

I lapped my AR 15 receiver. So I was wondering. If a round still chambers and the bolt locks up head space is good to go?

The headspace is set by the barrel extension and bolt not the receiver face. If the gun functions with the lapped face you’re fine. you haven’t changed headspace.
