There was a set of what appear to be gauges for belted mag cartridges.

There is no markings on them however, would anyone with belted mag headspace gauges mind measuring theirs?

My understanding of belted mag gauges is that they are referenced off of the belt portion rather that the shoulder.

If these are correct, they would be useful in
the future..

Thanks in advance,

Re: headspace gauge dimensions

Usually there is only one gauge for all belted mag cases based on the 300 H&H. If you have more than one, they could be for some English or Weatherby belted cases (like the 240 H&H or 224 WB magnum). You need a micrometer and a copy of Cartridges of The World to determine what you have.

Re: headspace gauge dimensions

Thanks Mr. H

I assumed one would be a "go" and the other a "no go" or "field"

Re: headspace gauge dimensions

Yes of course you are right. But they should be marked is that is what they are

Re: headspace gauge dimensions

I agree they should be marked,
and I actually have the ability to get them laser marked, if they are indeed gauges.

I was hoping that someone with belted magnum gauges could give me their measurements so that I might compare them,
