If you're a fan of Coppola's "Apocalypse Now", you'll enjoy this 1991 documentary film by Coppola's wife Elenor.

See a 14yo Larry Fishburne. See the Philippine Army split with all their helicopters in the middle of the Ride of the Valkyries to fight real live insurgents in the hills, ten miles away from the "VC village". See Martin Sheen have a heart attack live, on film. See Coppola get stiffed by Brando. See John Milius and George Lucas lament the butchering of their original script. See Hopper out of his mind on eight different kinds of dope.

See Coppola go slowly mad and contemplate suicide.

The documentary is almost as compelling as the feature film.

Agreed.

I still remember when Copolla's wife came to my French pre-school class to pull Sofia out of school for the rest of the year. "We're going to the Philippines to film a movie about Vietnam..."

FFE indeed. Repeat. Stand by to copy 9-line brief.

I kept it as my screensaver (I work 3 screens) until an anonymous person complained. Then I switched it to something else. Their happiness is contagious for some.
